Purpose:
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that "there are 1.7 million healthcare–associated infections in American hospitals each year, with 99,000 associated deaths." These infections can be tragic for patients and costly for hospitals. Hospitals that fail to adhere to required infection control practices face denial of reimbursement from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and from private insurers.
This program will cover in detail the Joint Commission infection prevention and control chapter (IC). The chapter includes requirements for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of an infection prevention and control program. This Webinar will help your infection control coordinator stay up to date on essential information.
