Purpose:
Our health care industry is changing daily. In a time when change is inevitable, current privacy regulations are impacted by recent federal regulations. Understanding how the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and the Federal Trade Commission’s Red Flags Rule impact HIPAA will ensure that office staff is taking the appropriate measures to continue to protect patient confidentiality and comply with new regulations.
