Consent to Do Business With The Doctors Company Electronically
In this agreement “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to The Doctors Company (“TDC”). The words “you” and “your” refer to the applicant for, or an insured under, a policy issued by TDC.
1. Consent to Do Business With, And Receive Communications From, TDC Electronically
To the extent permitted by law, pursuant to this agreement, you agree to:
- Complete transactions electronically and use electronic signatures on a website we make available to you to do so.
- Allow us to replace paper delivery of policy documents and communications, including bills, with electronic delivery of your policy documents and communications relating to policies pursuant to which you are insured or are applying for.
- If we replace paper delivery of policy documents, electronic delivery of policy documents and communications will be by emails to the address you provide us transmitting such documents, whether as text, and attachments to, and/or hyperlinks in, such emails linking to the documents stored on any TDC (or third-party) website.
- Update your electronic mail address when it changes by providing us written notice, and to make sure that neither your software nor your Internet service provider (“ISP”) or hardware inhibit or interfere with your receipt of electronic communications from us.
NOTE: There may be some communications we are legally obligated to provide to you in paper form. There may also be occasions when we will need to communicate with you in paper; however, our default will be to communicate electronically whenever possible.
2. Withdrawal of Consent to Do Business Electronically
You may withdraw your consent to do business with us electronically at any time. You may do so by sending your written request electronically, by mail, or by calling (800) 421-2368. You will need to allow us a reasonable period of time to make any change you request.
Modification of Electronic Communication Policies
We may modify our rules and processes regarding electronic communications, including termination of electronic communications, on reasonable notice to you. Any such notice will be provided electronically.
